Here are 7 tips to help you iron your Qamis

We all have the same problem. No matter what you do when you’re ironing a qamis, you can never truly get rid of all the wrinkles. Well, here are 7 tips to successfully iron your qamis.

Suggestions before ironing

The first tip consists of using a detergent containing a smoothing agent or fabric softener or sodium bicarbonate, adding a tablespoon at the time of rinsing in order to relax the fabric.

The second tip is to not fill the drum of your washing machine thoroughly and to select the spin option, if your washing machine has this function. This is to air your laundry and helps to prevent wrinkling.

The third tip is to extend your qamis, as soon as the washing is finished. To do this, it is advisable to hang it on a hanger to avoid any mark of folds. The fourth tip is not to dry your qamis, but rather to leave it slightly moist to allow the iron to maneuver better and get a smoother finish.

Ironing techniques

The fifth tip is to set your iron on the temperature that suits the qamis fabric and to use the "steam" option to avoid waxing your qamis. The sixth tip is to start by ironing the collar and shoulders, then back and front.

The seventh tip is to iron the sleeves by placing them flat on the table and delicately passing the iron along the length. In case your qamis is equipped with cufflinks, it is recommended to unbutton them before ironing.
